Requirements for Bringing Your Pet to Puerto Rico
Microchip - Your pet must be microchipped for identification
Rabies Vaccination - Must be current and given at least 30 days before travel (no more than 12 months prior). Certificate must travel with your pet.
USDA Health Certificate - Required within 10 days of travel. Schedule an appointment with a USDA-accredited veterinarian to obtain the official health certificate.
Parasite Treatment - Flea and tick treatment required within 72 hours before entry, documented by your vet.
Core Vaccinations - Your pet should be up-to-date on distemper, parvovirus, and other standard vaccines recommended by your veterinarian.
Requirements differ for birds, exotic pets, and pets traveling from outside the U.S.
