Determined to end Veteran suicide, K9s For Warriors is the nation’s leading provider of trained Service Dogs to military Veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma.
Every day, thousands of Veterans return home carrying invisible wounds — from PTSD and traumatic brain injuries to the lasting impacts of military service. Tragically, around 20 Veterans a day lose their lives to suicide.
K9s For Warriors exists to change that.

Their mission is simple yet life-changing: rescue dogs from high-kill shelters, train them to become Service Dogs, and pair them — free of charge — with Veterans who need them most. Each match offers a second chance for both warrior and dog: a loyal companion, constant support, and a renewed sense of purpose.

This program has been clinically proven to reduce PTSD symptoms, lower anxiety and depression, and even save lives. Since 2011, more than 1,000 Veterans have graduated from K9s For Warriors, and over 2,000 shelter dogs have been spared from euthanasia — each one becoming a lifeline.
